New Week, New Mindset

New Week, New Mindset

New Week, New Mindset

Now that we’re two weeks into April, summer is just two months away…so, this is the perfect time to get our healthier lifestyles on track. Here are 4 ways to ensure that your mindset is set up for success.

1. Write out your personal goals

With so much of our time spent using devices, we can underestimate the power of actively writing out our personal goals. Setting the time to reflect on the previous week, and then writing out goals to improve the following one is a perfect way to improve your mindset for the new week.

Doing so brings clarity, self-confidence and motivation – it’s a sure way to set yourself up for success so why not give it a try!

2. Keep on learning

With so many resources available now in the form of podcasts, books, online articles, etc., it’s never been more fun to learn. Listening to informative podcasts whilst on a walk could be an amazing way to learn something new whilst getting those all-important daily steps in.

Alternatively, learning to practice mindfulness also has tons of benefits. As seen on Good Housekeeping, “a meditation podcast can help you power down your mind. That’s because soothing meditation can activate your brain stem, thalamus and auditory cortex. As a result, your brain releases a chemical called oxytocin”.

3. Practice gratitude

Taking moments to stop and reflect on everything that there is to be grateful for can have a tremendous impact on your mindset. According to Help Guide, practicing gratitude has benefits such as:

  • Better sleep
  • Improved focus
  • Increased patience

Try using gratitude prompts to get into the routine of practicing gratitude. Prompts could be in the form of sticky notes, or a gratitude app which sends daily messages.

4. Move your body each day

Movement and mindset go hand in hand, so to start your new week off right why not get those endorphins flowing? Movement doesn’t just need to be done in the gym either, if you’d prefer, try at-home workouts if that makes it easier to fit exercise into your daily routine.

Alternatively, going for a 20/30-minute walk at some point throughout the day is a great way to get some fresh air and promote mental wellbeing. Looking for some further inspiration? Take a look on Self for 25 different at-home workouts.

So, why not give some of these a go this upcoming week and remember to track your progress and connect with other people like you on Best-You!
